"Looks Like Somebody's Got a Case of the Mondays"

(Gotta love Office Space!)

Today was such a Monday. The fact that I was really sick all day and have a job where it's very easy to call in sick didn't help my "I don't want to do anything productive all day" attitude. I don't even have to call in. I just have to email. But I really was sick, promise.

My day began with a few hours of Law and Oder: Criminal Intent. I don't know what is so thrilling about that show but I love it. The whole thing really is dramatic irony though. In almost every single episode, we see the victim(s) get murdered so we know who the killers are. I guess the great part is waiting to see how the detectives figure it out. The best part, though, is when you, the viewer, know who the killer(s) is/are (because you just saw it) and the detectives/district attorneys know who the killer(s) is/are because they always figure out everyone's schemes, and then we all have to wait for them to fit their investigation within the legality of that darned Constitution and Bill of Rights in order for the show to progress. Seems that way, anyway.

By the way, while I was watching I was hunting for purple shoes to wear on my wedding and for a black cardigan to match my bridesmaid dresses. (Whoda thought finding a black cardigan was that hard? Isn't it just a staple piece of clothing? Any normal person would think so but I will assure you it is difficult). Oh and convincing myself that I should probably do homework but shrugging it off and saying that I'll do it later and if not it will somehow magically get done by itself.

Anyway, after I was all done with Law and Order since my mom has canceled all new recordings of it on the DVR, I sunk to a very low point. I watched a movie, a Lifetime Movie (no, that's not even the low part! I know, you're thinking, "How can what it was about make it any worse than it already is!"), about people starring in a Bachelor-type reality TV show.

Pause.

A movie (err, Lifetime Movie) about a reality TV show? Can we really stand to watch 2 hours of that? The one hour a week is bad enough (although almost all of us secretly enjoy it). And now that I've done it, I can safely say that the only thing dumber than watching reality TV is watching a bad movie about people making reality TV.

BUT! Here comes the redemption part.

It had THE Bradley Cooper in it. (Yum!) So I guess I can't be judged too harshly.

After that my mom and I watched One Fine Day, which I must say proves that I do have good taste in movies and further proves my good taste in actors (THE George Clooney. Better yet, the YOUNG George Clooney). I love that movie. It's so wonderful. One of my favorite, feel good classics. I think next I'll watch You've Got Mail and really mix things up!

Now, still procrastinating homework (but waiting for itunes to download so I can put the audio version of Confessions of an English Opium-Eater on my iPod to listen to it before my quiz tomorrow and be at least somewhat productive today....) while Travis stresses over his Stats test and we're sitting in my incredibly hot upstairs.

Whew. What a day!

Hello.

I've wanted to blog for a while now, but I just haven't gotten around to it.
Typical.
Now, however, I am starting a new leaf.

I love the word "iridescent." It's just one of those words that sounds mysterious and like there is more to see than simply letters streamed together. It inspired a poem which I entitled the same name and tried to capture the essence of all those different angles of one love ( http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=129478395282 ). Iridescent reminds me of each person though. Even though we are each individual beings, we are all different shades of different colors bursting through every angle. Everyone can reflect the whole spectrum in different perspectives. Everyone has so many sides, not just necessarily good and bad. And each aspect of their likes and personalities makes them unique and yet, whole. So this blog is just for me to talk about all these different sides of me. It's therapeutic.

"iridescent
black and lustrous,
altered and unchanged,
moving and still,
forward and back,
shallow and overflowing."

Enough of that though.

Today will be a busy day. Lots of homework, chores, wedding stuff, and UFC fights later at Travis' house. I must say I don't feel like doing much of anything today, just lying in bed and blogging all day. But today's homework will consist of government homework, art history homework (that I can't seem to concentrate on and study quickly no matter what I do), some philosophy reading, and going to the Mesa Public Library so I can get a library card and rent a book online for my English class: Confessions of an English Opium Eater. Can't wait...

School is proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be. Most of my classes are 100 level, but there is so much reading in each one that it is very time consuming. The art history class I am currently taking is a half semester class. 3 credits worth of material jammed into 8 weeks. Then after that half is over, I'm doing the other half. Besides that, I'm liking them all so far.

Stress is a taking over again, though. Between school, work, and wedding plans I feel like I am constantly bogged down. And now I'll be Blogged down. Ha! (I'm a nerd....).
